Criteria for Verified Veteran®
- served in the *U.S. Armed Forces for at least 180 days of active duty
- applicants who not serving on active duty orders or currently attached to a reserve component must have earned an Honorable Discharge or any other type of discharge with the exceptions of Entry-Level-Separation and Dishonorable Discharge.
- Entry-Level-Separation and Dishonorable Discharges will automatically disqualify the applicant

Title 38, United States Code of Federal Regulations -- Veterans' Benefits Chapter 1 — General § 101.(2) under definitions reads: “The term 'veteran' means a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.”
